Building Surveys
Surveys range from:
- Inspection of a single defect.
- RICS Home Condition Report.
- Full Building Inspection Report, previously referred to as a Structural Survey.
Surveys are undertaken on a variety of buildings from small terrace cottages through to listed Manor Houses.
Some basics regarding surveys.
A Full Building Inspection Report is a detailed report, with colour photographs of the problems. We provide you with an estimate of the cost of rectifying the defects so that you can if you wish, renegotiate the purchase price. Our experience often enables us to provide you with the appropriate advice rather than recommend additional reports.
RICS Condition Report are designed for houses built after the second world war that have not been significantly altered or extended. They only bring to your attention significant or urgent defects. The report style is very succinct and is designed to alert you to problems with recommendations as to whether further advice or investigation is required. No advice is provided regarding maintenance or repairs.
It is advisable to discuss your requirements with one of our surveyors. Alternatively if you wish you can complete the survey enquiry form. All our surveys are carried out in accordance with the RICS standard conditions of engagement. We do discuss the survey report with you. We do not rely upon computer generated sentences and avoid the use of jargon. Our expertise allows us to analyse the defects and offer advice on the appropriate repairs.
